This family has made me understand you can live comfortably even out of your country. It has been a wonderful stay with them as I regret going. They have shown me love, given me comfort and treated me as their relative.
The day I came the family had bought me some toilet needs. I was warmly received by them and we spent some time together especially as my host mother speaks English. They gave me a very comfortable room with good beddings. When I cannot eat some of their traditional food they ask me to prepare what I can eat. Every morning they give me snacks to take to school. By the time I come back in the evening food is ready and I eat and sleep. During week-ends I have my meals as if I am in my house.
The family has helped me to know how to bargain as they do not want to see me spend money unnecessarily. This is seen when we go for shopping. They have taken me out twice to restaurants and taken care of the bills. I was taught some cultures too, especially some Chinese food like hot pot, noodles ad some others.
Above all they are very comforting. The day I told them I lost my brother back home, thy were very sorry and told me not to cry a lot as it was God’s will and they are there for me.
The internet was at my disposal and I could do my research whenever I wanted to. The area is very quite and conducive for learning. I have gifts they have presented to me for Xmas.
As I said I regret leaving this family but I know I will never forget them and will always visit them as long as I am in China. Why not even invite them to my home country. We are now more of relatives than host family.

一人暮らしをしているよりずっと人生経験になったと思います。最初は習慣の違いで少し戸惑いましたが、とても楽しくすごしました。戸惑ったことは、中国人はあまり暖房を使わない点と食事において多めに食べるように勧める点です。でも今は全くもって慣れました。また、中国語においてはステイ先の人に少し口音や習俗が含まれていて、聞き取れない時が結構ありました。しかし、葉先生はゆっくり話してくれ、どういう意味か説明してくれて、とてもためになりました。全てを聞き取れるのは、今の自分には無理なことで、もっとがんばって勉強しないといけないなという気になりました。
また葉先生と日本や中国の教育・しつけ・離婚問題について話したり、相談に乗ってもらったりと、とても感謝しています。他にも手料理が食べることができ、４歳の子供と交流したことは、ホームステイをしていなかったら、経験できなかったことだと思います。
